Ardis Roscoe McElroy, age 91, of Winnfield, La., died Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late John McElroy and the late Mary (Webb) McElroy.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Inc., 202 E. Lafayette St., Winnfield, La. Funeral services were held at Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2003. Rev. Kenneth Tarver and Rev. Russ Cooper officiated. Interment was held at Atlanta Cemetery in Atlanta, La.
Mr. McElroy is survived by his wife Ruth N. McElroy; one daughter, Sheila M. Walker and her husband Ray of Dodson, LA; one son, John Ray McElroy and his wife Joyce of Winnfield, LA; five grandchildren, Mike Walker and his wife Vanita of Dodson, LA, Sarita Horne and her husband Tracey of Atlanta, LA, Bobby Yelverton and his wife Nadine of Verda, LA, Heath McElroy of Lemoore, Ca, Heather Pendarvis and her husband Brock of Winnfield, LA; five great-grandchildren, Thomas Horne, Cara Walker, Lauren Walker, Haley Pendarvis, and Hannah Pendarvis.
