Mrs. Marcia Dewey
Mrs. Marcia Dewey died August 9 at the Mercy Nursing Home, East Berne, after an illness of several months.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the Tillapaugh Funeral Home here. Rev. Philip Pitcher, pastor of the milford Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Westville Cemetery.
Mrs. Dewey was born September 10, 1885, at Elk Creek, daughter of Edward and Clara (Milks) Nellis. She was married to Mark Dewey September 10, 1910.
Mrs. Dewey was graduated from Oneonta State Teachers College, and was a member of the Orethusa Sorority. For several years she was a teacher and taught in Cherry Valley, Milford, Amsterdam, Sidney Ceneter, Masonville and Rome. She retired several years ago.
She was a member of the WSCS of the Milford Methodist Church.
She is susrvived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. E.J. Butler, Rochester; one son, Byron dewey of Delmar; one brother, Jesse Nellis of Schenevus, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
