Frank E. Anderson, long time resident and member of a prominent pioneer family, died Thursday, June 20, 1996 in Wellington. He was 96 years of age.

Born March 23, 1900 in Hemphill County, near Miami to John W. and Mamie G. Alexander Anderson, he graduated from Wellington High School in 1918 and attended SMU. He married Mary Noel on December 23, 1926 in Hedley. She preceded him in death in 1988.

Mr. Anderson began work for the Mill Iron Ranch in 1932 and was named manager of the ranch in 1965, a position he held until his death.

He was a veteran of WWI having served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years; a Master Mason and member of the Wellington Masonic Lodge for over 70 years. He has served the Wellington Lodge as Worshipful Master.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the First United Methodist church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for eight years and served on the Administrative Council.

Survivors include one daughter, Sue Henegar of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Jane Henegar in 1969 and by a brother, Clark Anderson and three sisters, Belle Clyde Anderson, Ruth D. Anderson and Eula Anderson Benson.
