Isabella Ronaldson was the daughter of Alexander Ronaldson and Isobel Gowans. She was born about 1800 in Forgandenny, Scotland. She married Thomas Finlayson July 27, 1820. They had five children born in Scotland: William; Thomas; Ann; Isabella; and Jean. Her husband Thomas was in the Royal Perthshire Militia. He was also a farmer. At some point, Thomas and Isabella emigrated to America, possibly in the early 1850's. Isabella died in 1855 as did her son James Finlayson (age two)----apparently a late-in-life child. (Isabella's husband Thomas, married Rebecca Ann Sanders December 30, 1857 in Kendall County, IL.)
