Again has our neighborhood been brought to mourning, a family shattered, some dear little ones left without a mother, a husband without a companion, and all to know the voice of the One who does all things for the best is calling His loved ones one by one home.
On Thursday of last week at twelve o'clock p.m. occurred the death of Mrs. Jennie Chappell in her twenty-ninth year of age. About two years ago Mrs. Chappell had a severe attack of la grippe, from which she never fully recovered, and from that time forward she gradually went down with that great enemy to mankind, pulmonary consumption.
The funeral took place from the M. E. church at eleven o'clock Saturday, conducted by Rev. Bartholow, the pastor of which the deceased had for a number of years been a consistent member, after which she was laid to rest by many aching hearts and tender hands in the Niswender cemetery.
Mrs. Chappell was born in Otter Creek township July 3, 1870 and has resided here practically all her life. During all her sickness she has been remarkably patient, showing at all times a great interest in the welfare of all she knew, which only corresponded with her life, which was not all for self but for the good of mankind and the cause of her Master.
She leaves a husband and three small children, a son and two daughters, and other relatives and many warm friends by whom she will never be forgotten.
