Mrs. Thelma Bennett Walker, 86, died Monday morning (September 8, 2014) at her residence after a short illness.

She is a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. She was a homemaker and member of Jamestown Baptist Church and the Golden Age Sunday School Class. She is the daughter of the late Glenn Bennett and Minnie Harper Bennett Mullikin. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Darling Walker; brother, W. G. Bennett; and sister-in-law, Viola Bennett.

Survivors include four daughters, Gloria Cribb of Waycross, Toni Fleming (husband Joe) of Waycross, Pam Smith (husband John Ed) of Blackshear, and Brenda Foreman (husband Stevie) of Blackshear; two sons, William (David) Walker (wife Margie) of St. Mary's, and James (Mikie) Walker (wife Shirley) of Waycross; one sister, Marie Kimbrell (husband Shirley) of Waycross; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday (September 10, 2014) at Jamestown Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3 until 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Golden Age S.S. Class is asked to meet 3:40 p.m. Wednesday at the church to serve as honorary pallbearers.
