Mr. James Mitchell "Mikey" Walker, 64, died Tuesday afternoon (September 13, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross and member of Jamestown Baptist Church. He also retired as an electrician from CSX Transportation following 20 years of employment.
Mr. Walker was a son of the late J.D. Walker and Thelma Bennett Walker.
He is survived by his wife. Shirley Ann Walker of Waycross; two daughters, Christy Ann Walker of Patterson and Janet Lee Sullivan (husband Danny) of Jesup, GA; a son, James Mitchell Walker, Jr. (wife Mysti) of Patterson; six grandchildren, Macy White, Walker White (wife Taylor), Austin Sullivan, Allison Sullivan, Addyson Walker, and Brylee Walker; four sisters, Gloria Cribb of Waycross, Toni Fleming (husband Joe) of Waycross, Pam Smith (husband Eddie) of Blackshear, and Brenda Foreman (husband Stevie) of Blackshear; a brother, David Walker (wife Margie) of Harriett's Bluff, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (September 15, 2016) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday afternoon at the funeral home from 1 until 2 o'clock.
