John Milton Murry, son of Frank William & Sylvia Knapp Murry, was born Dec. 14, 1894 at Sioux City, Iowa and died Sept. 9, 1964 at the Veteran's Hospital at Grand Island, Nebr. at the age of 69 years.

The first four years of his life were spent on farms in town and Missouri, at which time his father was killed in
an accident. His mother was later remarried to Charles Walter Fritz and the family moved to Nebraska where he grew to manhood. He enlisted in the Medical Corps of the United States Army, June 27, 1918 and was honorably discharged June 23, 1919 after having served as cook with Base Hospital 81 in France.

On July 8, 1931, he was united in marriage to Sylvia F. Vistrup and to this union, four children were born; Laura May and Sharon Darlene of Broken Bow, Frank Anton of
Lincoln and Jerry Allen who preceded his Father in death as an infant. Also preceding him in death were his father, Frank William Murry; mother Sylvia Knapp (Murry) Fritz and stepfather, Charles Walter Fritz; brother Frank Murry; sister Lucy Max; also half-brothers, Louis Fritz and Robert Fritz; half-sisters, Anna Fritz and Rodia Fritz. He was raised in the Pentecostal faith to which he adhered all his life.
