Thomas R. Hubbard, 69

East Liverpool - Thomas R. Hubbard, age 69, of May Street, was welcomed to the arms of his Lord on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003. A son of the late Raymond A. and Pearl Mae Allison Hubbard, he was born March 3, 1934, in Chester. A truck driver his entire life, working for various trucking firms he retired from Dart Trucking in Canfield. Tom was well known as a bass guitar player and square dance caller with Roy Parsons and the Pioneers. He graduated from Chester High School in 1952 and was a member of the American Legion 121. He also was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the former Chester Free Methodist Church. A daughter, Terry Lynn Frye, preceded him in death along with two sisters, Patricia Bacon and Sara Hubbard. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Cowan Hubbard, whom he married June 4, 1971; along with two sons, Thomas R. Hubbard of Clarkson, Ohio, and Raymond D. Hubbard of Salem; a daughter, Roxanne Smith of East Liverpool; and two stepsons, Charles Click Jr. and Timothy Click of East Liverpool. In addition, there are four brothers, Cecil R. Hubbard of Islamorada, Fla., Richard B. Hubbard and his wife Lynn of Hookstown and Keith "Pete" Hubbard of Chester. Three sisters, Linda Graham and her husband James of Davenport, Fla., Sandy and Bob Gray of East Liverpool, and Ruby and Richard Scott of Tridelphia, W. Va. also survive. There are 14 grandchildren and several great - grandchildren. The Rev. Louis Raymond will conduct services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, where the Tri - State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors. Friends may visit the funeral home on today, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
