Ruby Jane (Hubbard) Scott

Triadelphia, W. Va. - Ruby Jane (Hubbard) Scott, 57, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, of Triadelphia, W. Va. passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle with lung cancer on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007. She was born Feb. 22, 1949 in Chester, the daughter of the late Raymond Alvin Hubbard and Pearl Allison Hubbard. She was a high school graduate of Oak Glen High School. She was marred for 40 years to her loving husband, Richard Lee Scott, formerly of Pierce, W. Va., on May 21, 1967 in Chester, where they met. They moved to Triadelphia together in 1969. She was a faithful member and elder of Dallas Presbyterian Church, loved bowling for many years on the Rise and Shine League at the Elm Grove Bowling Lanes and was a girl scout, where she received her curve bar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Hubbard, who died at infancy, and Patricia Ann Bacon; and two brothers, Thomas Hubbard and Rev. Richard Hubbard. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, SFC Grant Richard Scott and his wife Marsha of Dallas, W. Va.; a daughter, Gretchen Lorraine Ennis and her husband Lou of Short Creek, W. Va.; two grandsons, David Cole Unterzuber and Angelo Richard Scott; three granddaughters, Megan Victoria Ennis, Geneta Hunter Scott and Mylie Lynn Scott; three brothers, Cecil Hubbard of Islamorada, Fla. James Hector Hubbard and his wife Lynn of Hookstown, Pa., and Keith "Pete" Hubbard of Chester, two sisters, Linda Graham and her husband Jim of Haines City, Fla., and Sandy Grey and her husband Robert of East Liverpool; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received on Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to the time of the service at 10 a.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, located at 166 Kuger St. in Wheeling with the Rev.Ryan Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling. Memorial contributions may be made to Dallas United Presbyterian Church in Dallas, W. Va.
