Euell Williams, Highly Respected Farmer, Passes Away

Euell Kennel Williams, the oldest son of Nathanial (sic) and Lucy Williams, was born in Miama (sic) County, Indiana, December 15, 1846, and died October 11, 1931, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 26 days.

On July 11, 1872 he was united in marriage to Mary M. Barber. To this union twelve children were born, six sons and six daughters; Lucy Haymaker, Amelia Vaughn, George, Richard, Samuel, Oliver, Joe, Arvilla Maroff(sic), Mae Maroff(sic), Edith Vinzant, Elizabeth McIntosh and Raymond.

His wife and two children, Richard and Arvilla, preceded him in death. He has 34 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a kind and loving husband and enjoyed being with his children. He never ceased to mourn the passing of his wife.

He suffered greatly, but born his pain with patience. All was done that loving hands could do, but to no avail. He passed away peacefully at his home early Sunday morning.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday, Rev. Humphrey officiating. interment at McKinney Cemetery.

A precious one from us has gone;
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God, in his wisdom has recalled
The boon his love has given,
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in heaven.
dearest Father, though hast left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel:
But tis God who has bereft us,He can all our sorrows heal."

Son of Nathan and Lucy Elkins Williams. (Family history relates that Lucy died while enroute to MO in a covered wagon.)
