Funeral services were held Thursday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church for Ralph W. Follmer. Father Edward O'Leary offered the Requiem Mass and officiated at the burial services in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Pallbearers were six grandsons, Richard Friend, Charles Friend, George Friend, Gary Follmer, Robert Follmer, and Ervin Heinz.

Ralph Follmer was born in Oak, Nebraska on July 11, 1884 to George D. and Eva Follmer. (Mrs. George Follmer was a former State Land Commissioner) He died on Sunday, February 14, 1965, at St. Catherine's Hospital Center for Continuing Care, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, seven months and three days. On October 15, 1907 he was married to Mary A. Yunker, who preceded him in death, January 3, 1951. To this union were born five daughters and five sons.

Mr. Follmer farmed most of his life on the Follmer Homestead near Oak. He served in the National Home Guard as a second lieutenant during World War I. During World War II he was a volunteer defense bond salesman. In 1943 he worked at the Harvard Airbase and also did his farming. The latter years of his life he spent with his children. His loving help and solicitude for their welfare made him a welcome guest in their homes.

He leaves to mourn his passing his ten children: Mrs. Ellen Friend, Mrs. Mary Ann Troia, Jerry Follmer of Bellevue, Mrs. Catherine Heinz of Lawrence, Ralph Follmer Jr. of Omaha, George D. Follmer of Green River, Wyoming, Richard Follmer of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Eugenia Radosevich of Milford, Iowa, Mrs. Faith Crifasi of Baton Rouge, La., Donald Follmer of Nelson, Nebr.; 56 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fern Lowery and Miss Kathryn Follmer of Oak, and a brother, Harry R. Follmer of Plattsmouth.
