"Mrs. Elizabeth Halbert Miller, in Biloxi, Miss., November 21, 1897, after a protracted illness. Funeral services Sunday evening at 3 o'clock, Rev. E. Thompson, rector of the Episcopal church, officiating, and the following gentlemen acting as pall bearers: E. W. Morrill, Wm. Gorenflo, L. Lopez, J. C. Clower, John Carraway and Robert Moseley. The deceased was born in Old Pendleton, S. C. on July 2, 1826, removed to Mississisppi in 1838(?)with the family of her father, John Sitton, who located in Obtibbeha(?) county, where he continued to reside until his death. She was married January 18, 1849, to Maj. R. C. Miller, who died at Enterprise, Miss., in 1867. She was the mother of seven children, all of whom preceded her to the grave except two - Mrs. O. P. Walton, of West Point, Miss., and Mrs. J. H. Miller of Biloxi. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church and her declining years were supported by an unfaltering faith in the promises of the Lord".∼Female, 74 years of age, widow, native of South Carolina, resident of Biloxi, chronic diarhoe, Dr. Haraldson.
