Died at the residence of her husband in Choctaw County, Mrs. Frances Caroline, consort of H. Burdine Esq., in the 29th year of her age. She was the daughter of John and Frances Sitton, formerly of Pendleton District, SC,. She early attached herself to the M.E. Church - She left a husband and seven children. Miss. Telegraph

Frances married Hamilton Burdine on Feb 27, 1834 in Pickens County, SC. In 1839 Frances and Hamilton traveled by wagon train to Mississippi, along with other family members. In 1840 they were in Oktibbeha County, MS. They moved to Choctaw County where Frances died in 1848. When her grandfather, John Halbert, wrote his Last Will and Testament, he stated that Frances was deceased and that her her share was to go to her children. Hamilton married Louisa Hughes in 1849 and they were living in Choctaw County, MS in 1850. Hamilton and Louisa moved back to South Carolina.
