NEW CUMBERLAND - Doris R. Harris, 80, of New Cumberland, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Samuel David and Rose (Cochran) Knox. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Harris Jr. (1987); a son, John Paul "Jack" Harris Sr. (1996); and two brothers, John T. Knox and David R. Knox.

Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Cumberland and was a housewife.

Surviving are three children, Gerry (Luis) Bruno of Weirton, Sharon (James) Ulbright of Newell and Rob (Becky) Harris of New Cumberland; one sister, Jean (Walter) Stewart of New Cumberland; one brother, James R. Knox of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home.

Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Tinsky officiating. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery
