COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 06/19/1981
Mrs. Charles H. Schnell, 90, formerly of 430 N. 20th St., died Thursday [June 18, 1981] at Parkway Medical Center. She was the former Edith Rochner, a native of Corydon, IN. Survivors besides her husband include two sons, Charles T. & Alfred J. Schnell; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas G. Elder of Houston, TX, and Mrs. Robert Lauyans; a brother, Leo Rochner of Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Goodman and Mrs. Dorothy Nelson, both of Lanesville, IN, and Mrs. Ann Kleier; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 338 N. 25th St., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Mass of the Air.

(Rita) Elder, Houston, TX and Mrs. Robert (Joan Marie) Lauyans; brother, Leo Rochner; sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Goodman, Mrs. Dorothy Nelson, both of Lanesville, IN and Mrs. Ann Kleier, Louisville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral from Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Saturday at 10 a.m. and in St. Cecilia Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Prayer service by the members of the parish 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. Visiting Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mass of the Air.
