COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 02/05/1957
William G. McAuliffe Sr., 56, of 1643 Mellwood, died at 1:50 a.m. yesterday in St. Joseph Infirmary. A native of Louisville, McAuliffe was an electrician for 14 years for Brown-Forman Distillers Corporation. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary A. McAuliffe, six daughters Mrs. Mary Jo Huelsman, Mrs. Patricia Higgins, and the Misses Helen, Judith, Anna and Beverly McAuliffe; five sons, William G. McAuliffe, Jr., who is in the Navy, Pvt. John McAuliffe, in the Army, Pvt. Donald McAuliffe, also in the Army at Nuremberg, Germany, and James and Robert McAuliffe; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Kremnetz, New Albany, Mrs. Herman Kreps, Atlanta, and Mrs. John H. Hess and Mrs. J. Elmer Yost; a brother, James McAuliffe, and 11 grandchildren. The body is at Bax Funeral Home, 710 E. Chestnut.
