Place of birth is copied from Kerry Kirk (Veach Family Forum #158, Genforum.com), who says he married Nancy Parsons in 1805 in Sevier Co., TN, and moved to Harrison Co., IN, in 1815.

The Veatches lived in the Wear Valley (then known as Crowsons Cove), Sevier Co., TN, in 1807, when their property was first surveyed. Plat maps of the land surrounding their farm can be seen at http://www.gwingenealogy.net/GENEALOGY/TENNESSEE/CrowsonsCove/CrowsonsCovePlatMaps.htm.

He moved to Harrison Co., then Crawford Co., then Orange County, Indiana, a few short years later and, with Isham Gwin--his next-door-neighbor in Crowsons Cove, helped found the Providence Primitive Baptist Church in Orange Co., Indiana, the two serving as the first two elders of church, Elder Gwin as its first pastor. (Please see more on this old church at http://www.gwingenealogy.net/GENEALOGY/INDIANA/ProvidencePrimBapCh.htm.)

According to his gravestone, Elder Veatch served as pastor of the church starting in 1832. Elder Gwin died between 26 Oct. 1830, when he signed his will, and 6 Jan. 1831, when the will was recorded in Probate Court.

The stone on his grave reads: KINSEY VEATCH, Died Dec. 10, 1854, Aged 77 Yrs. 7 M's. & 6 D's. He became a member of the Baptist Church about the year 1800. Was ordained to the ministery (sic) 1815 in which capacity he continued to serve during his lifetime to the entire satisfaction of his bro's and sisters. Was elected as pastor and moderator of Providence Church in 1832 where he continued to serve and retain his membership until the Lord called him to the mansion of rest.
