Her birth in Sevier County was likely near Shields Fort, outside of what is now Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. In various records, her death date is September 1 and December 1 of 1847. It is now known where she or her husband, Joseph Shields, were buried. It may have been on the family farm in Woodland Township, Fulton County, Illinois. Or she could have been buried in what is currently an unmarked grave in or near Summum, Fulton County, Illinois. Some of her children and their spouses and children are buried in the Hart Cemetery and Summum Sweet Sixteen Cemetery - both in Fulton County, Illinois.
