SULPHUR SPRINGS - Funeral services for Loye B. Adams, 84, of Sulphur Springs are at 10 a.m. today at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Kruger officiating. Military graveside services will follow in the Mahoney Cemetery. Mr. Adams died Tuesday morning at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Born July 26, 1915 in Mahoney, he was the son of Albert Baxter and Pearl Boss Adams. He married Lillian Beatrice Anglin on Sept. 11, 1936 in Cooper. Mr. Adams served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the Army National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion and served as district commander of the American Legion. He served on the board of the Salvation Army in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Adams was retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. and television repair service. Surviving are three sons, Loye B. Adams Jr. and B.J. Adams of Sulphur Springs and H. Ray Adams of Pasadena; six daughters, Ina Thompson, Edee White and Patsy Boshears of Sulphur Springs, Helen Dunavin of Greenville, Mozelle Rutledge of Burke, Va. and LaVada Simpson of Nevada; two sisters, Mary Ruth Barham of Plano and Estelle Watson of Winnsboro; a brother, Andy Adams of Winnsboro; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1983 and seven brothers and sisters. Members of the Hopkins County Military Coalition are serving as pallbearers.
