Kenneth B. Kinne, 88, of rural Erie, Kansas, died at 7:17 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born February 22, 1922, in Erie, Kansas, to Orton A. and Flora (Burlingame) Kinne.
He attended rural elementary school there and was a 1939 graduate of Erie High School.
He and Mary Ann Yockey were married May 15, 1942, in Pittsburg, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2005.
He was a farmer and stockman his entire life.
He enjoyed dancing and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Roger Kinne, of rural Erie, KS; two daughters, Nancy LaRue, of rural Erie, KS, and Pamela Thiesing, of rural Erie, KS; 6 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
he was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Cale Kinne, on March 30, 2002; one brother, Orton Kinne, Jr.; and two sisters, Nell George and Ava George.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
