Nelle Christine Kinne George

Nelle C George 79 of Rt 2 Erie died at 8:05 am, Tuesday, Dec 15 1992 at the Labette County Medical Center. She had been ill for the past six months and had last entered the hospital on Dec 10. She was bom April 6, 1913 at Erie to Orton and Flora (Burlingame) Kinne. She graduated from Erie High School in 1931 and received a degree in education from Emporia State Teachers College. She taught at Rural School No 7 in the Erie area for several years until her marriage. She and Hollis George were married on Feb 4 1942 at Girard. He died Dec 15 1974. Mrs George was a member of the First Christian Church of Erie and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Survivors include a son Bill of Rt 2 Erie, a daughter Joan Robertson of Atlantic, Iowa, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother Kenneth Kinne of Erie and a sister Ava George of Erie. A brother preceded her in death. The service will be at 1:30 pm Friday at the First Christian Church of Erie with the Rev Jere Wells officiating. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery at Erie. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm Thursday at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie. The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church of Erie
