Obituary: Louis Holt

VERNAL - Louis Holt age 77, passed away January 7, 2003 At the U of U Hospital.
He was born September 7, 1925 to Henry Jesse and Lillis Burgess Holt in St. George, Utah. He married Mickey P. Blank on October 24, 1966 in Elko, NV. Lou was a Veteran Serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; member of the Vernal Elks Lodge and Utah Sheriff's organization. Lou enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, the outdoors and working was his hobby. He owned and operated IGA Grocery Store and worked for Ashton's grocery. Lou also started and operated Mountain West Oilfields Services with Ron Ufford, who was a very special and close friend and business partner.
He is survived by his wife, Mickey; children, Louis Jr. Holt of Reno, NV; Randy Holt of St. George, UT; Derek Holt of Vernal, UT; Jason (Sally) Holt of Boulder City, NV; Trent Stoddard of Salt Lake City, UT; and Tracy Stoddard of Vernal, UT; Siblings, Bill Holt, Don (Norma) Holt of St. George, UT; Verna Jean Hughes of Mesquite, NV, James D. Holt of Hurricane, Ann Stock and "Bud" Rulon Holt of Hurricane. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Services will be Friday, January 10, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 11 and 124. Under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
