Don started his family in Salina, Utah. He had several jobs, including grocery clerks, coal miner, and owner of a Sinclair gas station. For 16 years, he worked with the D& RGW Railroad, and raised pigs in his spare time. He spent the next 22 years carrying out the career of his life, farming crops and raising cattle. Don and Norma bought a mom-n pop drive-in, which they called Holt's Hunger Hut. He spent the last of his career with his sons in St George, sod farming and selling decorative landscape products. He held several positions in the LDS church and served the Lord in his own, quiet way, and raised his children to appreciate the same hard- working values that he was known for.
