Larry J. Mumaw, Sr., 66, of Zanesville, died 2:23 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Ohio State University Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born Wednesday, August 26, 1942 in Zanesville, the son of Woodrow W Mumaw and Sue (Keyser) Mumaw. He married Genevieve ''Ellie'' Tyson on Saturday, September 14, 1963. He retired in 1996 from the Goss Tire Company following 31 years of service. He retired in 2006 from Springfield Township following 10 years of service. He was the co-owner of Sports Card Plus on McIntire Avenue and was a member of The Zanesville Athletic Boosters Association.
In addition to his wife of the home; he is survived by his mother; two granddaughters, Courtney and Lindsey Mumaw; two sisters, Dianne (Max) Mann and Judy Lane; two brothers, Terry (Bonnie) Mumaw and Rick Mumaw; mother-in-law, Genevieve Tyson; brothers-in-law, Joe (Susan) Tyson, Jim (Bev) Tyson, Randy (Barbie) Tyson, Jeff (Christy) Tyson; sisters-in-law, Sue (Carl) Mudgett, Beth Tyson & Mark Ethel and Josey (Rick) Rickeart, Candy and Rodger; special friends, Carla (Dwight) Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Larry J. Mumaw, Jr. who died in 2003; two brothers, Tom and Billie Mumaw; and his father-in-law, Charles Tyson.
Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
