Elmer E. Stone, 87, 504 Washington Ave., Clearwater, FL., died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15. 1992 at his residence.
Born July 20, 1904 in Clark County. Ky., he was the son of J. P. Stone and Hattie Winkler. He lived most of his life in the Laurel and Metamora communities. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Metamora Bible Baptist Church. He married Sarah F. (Fox) Stone on July 17, 1926. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1987.
Survivors Include two sons: James Junior Stone, Clearwater Fla, Stanley B. Stone, Metamora; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Marle) Halcomb, Glenwood, Mrs. John (Inez) Kolb, Metamora, Mrs. Robert (Viola) Browning, Clearwater Fla.; one brother: Johnny Stone, Connersville; two sisters, Mrs. Lorena Taylor, Laurel; Mrs. Myrtle Oaks, Laurel; two stepsisters: Mrs. Jean Smith, Connersville, Mrs. Nada Wiseman, Urban, Ky.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two brothers and one son.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Moster and Cox Mortuary in Laurel. Burial will be in the Laurel North Cemetery with Dennis Wagers presiding. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary in Laurel.
