J. Burt Stone, 68, R. 7, Connersville, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 12, 1988, In his son's home in Cincinnati, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 28, 1920 in Fox, Kentucky, he was the son of J.P. and Hattie Winkler Stone. He was married April 26, 1941 to Lona'Messer, wfio survives. He was a Fayette County farmer and an employee of National Cash Register. He was a
member of the Laurel Christian Church and a World War 11 army veteran.

Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ronald of Connersville; three brothers, Elmer of Clearwater, Florida, Pryse ofTipp City, Ohio, and John of Connersville; two sisters. Myrtle Oaks and Lorina Taylor, both of Laurel; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Moster and Cox Mortuary in Laurel with the Reverend James Orr, the Reverend Glen Wilson, and the Reverend Everett McCauley officiating. Burial will be in Laurel North Cemetery. Visitation hours are after 6 p.m. Friday in the mortuary at Laurel.
