SANTA ANA, California — Darlene Polman Miller, 74, Santa Ana, California, died February 17, 2009, at the Santa Ana Hospital after an extended illness.
Burial was at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
Darlene was born on April 3, l934, in Nichols, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Sophia Polman.
She graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1952. She married Richard Miller in 1954, and lived in Muscatine until they moved to California in l962.
She was a secretary-bookkeeper for her husband's appliance business until her retierment.
Survivors include a son, Dale Miller and wife, Robin; a daughter, Janet Castellon and husband, Tim; four grandchildren, all of California; three sisters, Louise Ulch and husband, Lee, of Gladbrook, Iowa, Kathleen Meeks and husband, Mark, of West Branch; and Shirley Bohr and husband, Harold, of Wellman, Iowa; a brother, Bob Polman and wife, Carolyn, of Iowa City; and a sister-in-law, Georgia Polman of Santa Ana, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Albert, LeRoy Donald and an infant brother; and a sister, Dorothea Hazen
