David S Kimzey was the son of James Campbell Kimzey and Elizabeth Hill. He married Sarah Ann Woodside 28 Sep 1841 Livingston Co, Ky. His family moved to Perry Co, Il in 1830, so he went back to Livingston Co to marry someone he knew as a young man. His wife's parents moved to St Clair Co (neiboring county to Perry) about 1844. Their children were John Alexander, James Padian, Martha M, Mary Elizabeth. They separated about 1852 because he was an alcoholic and then David disappeared from his family shortly thereafter. David is not in the 1860 census so he probably died before this time.

general land office of the United States certificate of the register of the office of Kaskaskia whereby it appears that full payment has been made by David KImzey according to the provisi and deed of congress 24 Apr 1820 entitled indeed for the sale of public lands.the northwest section thirty of the southwest quater section 30 in township five south os three west in the district oflands by register and Kaskaskia, Illinois containint forty acres.
