CONWAY — Robert Clyde Barrett, 89, a native of Northampton County died Sunday. Mr. Barrett was a retired Conway merchant, a charter member of the Conway Volunteer Fire Department, a faithful member of Conway United Methodist Church, a Shriner and a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Burgess Barrett, of the home; one daughter, Clyde Myrell Dixon of Murfreesboro; two sons, Robert Wilton Barrett of Greensboro, and Rodney B. Barrett of Conway; one sister, Irma B. Odom of Conway; one brother, Howard J. Barrett of Boykins, VA; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Bill Mitchell conducted funeral services at Conway United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the Conway Cemetery.
