CONWAY — The funeral for Winborne Allen, 79, of Conway was held June 17th at 3 p.m. Allen, who died in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Richmond, was a retired farmer and member of the Conway Baptist Church.
The Revs. Nicky Martin and Daniel D. Bowman conducted services at the church. Burial was in the Conway Cemetery.
He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Margaret A. Wheeler of Seaboard, Mrs. Clorene A. Wade, Mrs. Millie A. Martin, Mrs. Virginia A. Flythe and Mrs. Sylvia Jean A. Ricks, all of Conway, Mrs. Josephine A. Baker of Capital Heights, MD, and Mrs. Nell A. Long of Pendleton; three sons, Earl Allen of Ahoskie, Jennings and Sidney Allen of Conway; three sisters, Geneva Allen of Conway, Mrs. Zata A. Dabbs of Newport News, VA and Mrs. Sarah A. Drew of Magnolia; a brother, E. H. Allen of Conway; 42 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
