DIED

CROW--Little Elvie, daughter of James and Margaret Crow, July 6th, 1886, aged 5 years 9 months and 22 days.

The little sufferer was ill but nine days and everything that could be was done for her, but of no avail. Be comforted dear parents, for what a consoling truth that, the little one whom you folded to your heart with such fervent tenderness, is waiting "over the river" to welcome you.

And is your darling Elvie dead?
O, no, that cannot be,
Has not our loving Savior said
Let the children come to me?

A shepherd came when the sun grew low
By a path that has long been trod,
And carried your lamb through the mists of the night
To a fold in the mount of God.

Fold away little garments,
That she wore while here below,
She is clothed in spotless raiments
In that blissful home above.

God hath called her home
Ere life seemed scarce begun
O, can you look to him and say,
Thy will, O, Lord be done?

With dimpled hands upon her breast,
Your darling calmly sleeps,
'Neath that little mound upon the hill,
Where the dewy blossoms weep.

With tearful eyes and bleeding hearts
You must bear it and struggle on
Must climb the mount by the Shepherd's track,
To the fold where your lamb has gone.
