Rufus A. Crow, a former resident of Adair county [MO], died suddenly of heart failure Saturday morning at his home in Ft. Dodge, Ia. He was the son of James and Margaret E. Crow. He was born in Adair county and was 59 years 4 months and 2 days old. He is survived by his wife, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Strock and the sister of Mrs. Amos Propst, and seven children, Clinton and Marvin [sic], of Minnesota, Glen and Margaret [sic] and Mary of Fort Dodge, Ia., and two boys living at home. He also leaves five sisters, Mrs. O. T. Waddell, of this city, Mrs. Ella Jordan, of Council Bluffs, Ia., Mrs. Herbert Sykes, of Mason City, Mrs. Sam Britt and Mrs. James Burton, of near Greentop. Mr. Crow had two sons, Clinton and Marvin, in the World War. Clinton was gassed and has never recovered, and is now in a military hospital. In the battle of the Argonne Marvin was maimed and crippled for life by a high explosive shell, the same killing the entire squad except Marvin. The funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Mann, were held at Ft. Madison church Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and interment was made in Ft. Madison cemetery. The many friends of the family in Adair county extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

(This is from a clipping and the source is not evident, but it appears to be from a Kirksville or Adair County newspaper.)

Other children of Rufus and Frederica not listed below:
Infant son (b. & d. 1902 probably in CO)
