Richard Calvin Jarvis, 67, of Springtown, died Saturday, September 3, 2005.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown with burial following at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening at White's Funeral Home.
Richard was born October 16, 1937, in Dallas, to John and Rita Cochrane Jarvis. He was a veteran of the US Army and was co-owner of Little John's Wrecking Yard for 48 years and Square Deal Iron and Metal as well as numerous other businesses. Richard loved life, laughter, friends and family. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Richard gave to everyone with all his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family, yard work, hunting, working hard but most of all he loved to make others laugh. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Ebert Jarvis; brothers, Franklin and O.H. "Butch" Jarvis.
Survivors include his son, Doug Jarvis; daughter, Wendy Ashley and husband, Clark; granddaughter, Hope; brothers, Bill Jarvis and wife, Mary Sue, Billie Jean Jarvis, Joe Jarvis and wife, Billie Jean; sister, Patsy Freeman and husband, Jesse; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, business associates, friends and loved ones.
