His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Reilly Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Pitsch officiating. Burial will be in Brenton Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born April 11, 1892, north of Piper City, the son of Charles and Malvina Marble Read.
Surviving are one brother, Elmo, Piper City; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
A graduate of Richmond Business College, Kankakee, he farmed ln the area until 1943 when he moved to Piper City. He had been at the Ford County Nursing Home, Paxton, for six years before entering the hospital. He was a member of the Piper City Methodist Church.
