Lyndon Burton Shumake, 70, of Spring Valley died March 28. He was born in Atlanta, La., and was a maintenance worker for the Port of San Diego. Mr Shumake served in the Navy from 1946 to 1968. He was a member of Lemon Grove Lodge 736 F&AM and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2082.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Lynn Swanstrom of Spring Valley; son, Rex Allen Shumake of El Cajon; sisters, Louise Huckelbee of Bridgeport, Texas, Cherry Estes of Mount Hermon, La., and Bertie Ray Walters of De Queen, Ark.; brothers, Robert and James Shumake of Winnfield, La.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services have been held.
