Funeral services for Mrs. Albert [Karen] Larson were held on Wednesday, June 7th, at the Goose River Lutheran Church near Hatton. The services were held at 2 p.m. with Rev. A. E. Setness officiating. Burial was made in the churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers were three sons, Alfred, Sivert and Lyder Larson, and three sons-in-law, Arthur Winters, Julius Holweger and Arthur Hagness.
Mrs. Larson passed away suddenly at her home in Northwood on Friday morning, June 2, from a heart ailment. She was born Sept. 5, 1878 in Goodhue County, Minnesota. After her marriage to Mr. Larson, she lived on a farm near Hatton for 32 years and also lived near Kempton for a number of years. Twelve years ago, the Larsons moved to Northwood to make their home.
Mrs. Larson was a member of the Goose River Lutheran Church and a member and Gold Star mother of the Northwood chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, four sons, Rudolph of Grand Forks, Alfred of Northwood, Sivert of International Falls, Minn. and Lyder of Hatton, and four daughters, Mrs. Miles Brumwell, Erskine, Minn., Mrs. Arthur Hagness of Grand Forks, Mrs. Arthur Winters of Thompson and Mrs. Julius Holweger, Northwood. She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. One son, Mentz, died while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. – Hatton Free Press, June 15, 1950
