She passed away on Friday, December 17, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Mrs. Poteet was born on December 4, 1924 in Anna, Texas to the late Shirley and Ethel Powell.
She married Curtis Poteet on November 29, 1942 in Matador. They lived in Nara Visa, New Mexico for 30 years and moved back to Floydada in 1995.
She was a housewife, a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Floydada and loved to sew and bake.
She was preceded in death by one son, Otis Tillman Poteet; one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Poteet of Floydada; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Wayne and Debbie Poteet of Plainview, Ronnie and Sally Poteet of Floydada; one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Craig DuBois of Floydada; four brothers, Edward Powell of Anna, Tillman Powell of Howe, Fletcher Powell of Princeton and, Kenneth Powell of Floydada; two sisters, Freida Camish of Houston and Dessa Jean Adams of Anna; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
