Ronnie Poteet FLOYDADA - Ronnie Poteet, 62, of the Cedar Hill community passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Primitive Baptist Church in Floydada with Lynn Clay officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Mr. Poteet was born Jan. 3, 1948, in Matador to Curtis and Catherine (Powell) Poteet. He graduated school at Amistad, N.M., where he spent most of his life farming. He married Sally McKee on Aug. 16, 1969, in Amistad, N.M., where they lived until they moved to Floydada in 1993. Ronnie loved spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed movies, working with leather and wood, and riding horses. He is survived by his wife, Sally; their daughter, Kathy and her husband, Mike Foshee, of Plainview; father, Curtis Poteet of Floydada; brother, Wayne Poteet and his wife, Debbie, of Plainview; sister, Gail and her husband, Craig DuBois, of Floydada; brother-in-law, Charles McKee; sister-in-law, Susie Taylor; five grandchildren, Patrick, Haley, Ethan, Ronnie and Kayla; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine; brother, Odis Tillman; sister-in-law, Sandy Podzemney; and nephew, Cole DuBois.
