Mrs. Clatie Barnes, 72, of Caruthersville, died Feb. 12 at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 26, 1913 in Pemiscot County, she was the daughter of John and Velma Treece Montgomery. She attended schools in Hayti and was a member of Faith Fellowship Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dee Barnes of Caruthersville; Two sons, Donald Barnes of Memphis and Glenn Barnes of Blytheville; One daughter Mrs. Wanda Crow of Paragould; Two brothers, Charley and Johnny Montgomery, both of Caruthersville; Three sisters, Mrs. Fern Wilson of Wardell, Mrs. Mary Jarboe of Caruthersville and Mrs. Lester Sherwood of Louisiana; And three grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel in Caruthersville, the Rev. Ray Melton officiating, with burial in Maple Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Floyd Drew, Verland Stubbs, Norman Howell, B.F. "Hot" Rogers, John Montgomery and Neil Tucker.
