Lester Latta Called by Death

Was Father of State Senator

Lester A. Latta, 60, McComb barber and father of State Senator Delbert L. Latta (R-Bowling Green), died at 4:10 a.m. yesterday at Lima Memorial Hospital after an illness of ten days.

Born Sept 7, 1897, in Malinta to Charles and Flora (Blew) Latta, he married Bessie Thompson Sept. 11, 1916, and she survives.

Also surviving are sons Delbert, Bowling Green; Donald, McComb; Lester Jr., Ohio City; daughters Mrs. James (Corrine) Stoner, Fostoria; and Mrs. Robert (Hilda) Smith and Mrs.
Walter (Marcella) George, McComb; sister Mrs. Eber Smith, Findlay; brother David William Latta, Findlay; half-sister Mrs. Frank Downing, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren. A brother is deceased.

Mr. Latta was a member of the Hoytville Knights of Pythias Lodge; Pleasant Grange; the Hoytville Athletic association, and the McComb Church of Christ.

Services will be held at the Jones Funeral Home at 2 p.m. tomorrow with the Rev. Arthur Fields officiating, assisted by Dr. Tennyson Guyer. Burial will be in McComb cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.
