Hilda V. Smith, 90, of McComb, Ohio passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Hilda was born October 3, 1928 in North Baltimore, Ohio to the late Lester and Bessie (Thompson) Latta. She married Robert O. Smith on September 19, 1948 in McComb, Ohio and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1988. Hilda is survived by her children: Linda (Steve) Kern-Moorhead and Steven Smith of Findlay, Judy (Mark) Frazier of Valencia, Pennsylvania and Dennis (Jill) Smith of McComb, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Donald, Delbert and Lester Latta Jr and her sisters Corrine Harden and Marcella George.
Hilda was a faithful member of the McComb Church of Christ and enjoyed making pies and cookies. Hilda was an individual with a heart of gold and would help anyone in a time of need, whether it was with food, clothing or emotional support, Hilda was always there for everyone. Family was the most important part of Hilda's life. She cherished every moment she spent with them.
Visitation for Hilda will be on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 3:00-7:00 PM in the HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio 45858. Hilda's funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, with Pastors Rick Broughton and Jeff Fuller, officating. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted in Hilda's honor to the McComb Church of Christ, 400 Ackerly St., McComb or to Bridge Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Dr., Findlay, Ohio 45840.
