Cornelia was born about 1835, the youngest surviving child of Simeon and Euphemia (Atchinson) Bathgate. I have found no record of her marrying. She lived with her parents until their deaths and may have alternated living with various family members. In 1870, she lived with her sister Margaret Shattuck's family, in 1880 with her sister Sarah Castle's family, both in Medina. She suffered with asthma which had made an invalid by the age of 43. Cornelia lived another twenty years presumably with the affliction.
