Mr. Earl Wallace "Jack" Sweat, 64, died at the Kennett Health Care Center in Kennett, Mo. on Tuesday, March 6, 1990.
Son of Dorothy Studdard Abbott and the late Carl Bonnie Sweat, he was born in Selmer, Tenn. on January 25, 1926, and attended schools at Cottonwood Point and Tyler, Mo.
He leaves three sons: Mr. Joe Sweat, Mr. Billy Sweat, and Mr. Ricky Sweat, all of Tupelo, Miss.:
Two daughters: Mrs. Brenda James of Nesbit, Miss. and Mrs. Ann Grant of Richmond, Ky.;
His mother, Mrs. Dorothy Abbott, of Cottonwood Point, Mo.;
One brother, Mr. Carl Sweat, of Cottonwood Point;
A sister, Mrs. Frances Linsman, of Cottonwood, Point;
One nephew, Mr. Johnie Linsman Jr., of Caruthersville, Mo.;
Two nieces: Mrs. Dorothy Hodge of Marion, Ark. and Mrs. Lisa Ringling of St. Louis, Mo.;
Eight grandchildren; and
Two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 8, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, with Rev. Adrian Knipps officiating. Burial was at the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were: Terry Rushing, Johnie Linsman Jr., William Smith, Steve Jones, Kerry Hodge, and M.S. Johnson.
