Funeral services for Carl Sweat Jr., 63, Caruthersville, were Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1993 at 2 p.m. at the H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Burial was in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo.
Mr. Sweat died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1993 at the St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He was born Jan. 17, 1930 in Selmer, Tenn. to Carl Bonnie Sweat and Dorothy Studdard Sweat Abbott. He was married to Joann Hughes, who preceded him in death in 1980. He was a salesman for several years before his retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Jinkerson of St. Louis, Mo.; two step-daughters, Cindy Christian of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Shirley McMunn of St. Louis, Mo.; four step-sons, Terry, Jimmy, Gary and Danny Brewer, all of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Frances Linsman of Cottonwood Point, Mo.; 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Sweat.
