Hiram F Blankenship was born in Conasauga, Polk, Tennessee, to William Blankenship and Elizabeth Lee. He married Amanda Henrietta F Goodin, on 15 Sep 1859, in Murray Twp. Greene County, and had a number of children before his untimely death 14 Nov 1868, in Willard, where he was Postmaster at the time (1863-1868). He may well have died of an epileptic stroke, since his youngest daughter, Laura Allen Blankenship Bonner also did, in 1917, at the young age of 49.
