MANNING
Mrs. Ophelia Quimbley Manning, 85 year-old native of Vancleave, died Thursday at 8:30 p m in a hospital in Mobile.
Mrs Manning has been a resident of Satsuma, Ala., for the last 37 years. She is survived by five daughters; Mrs Iris Walker of San Antonio, Tex.; Mrs Jessie M. Pinker, Mrs Bessie Unzicker, and Mrs Dean Miller, all of Mobile; and Mrs. Evon Cole of Long Beach, Calif.
Her two surviving sons are Pat H. Manning of Satsuma and Ford Manning of Pascagoula.
A brother, Talmadge Quimbley, lives at Columbus, GA; and a sister, Mrs Jeanie Barlow, also lives at Columbus.
She left 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p m in the chapel of Higgins-Brown Service Funeral Home in Mobile.
Officiating were the Rev William Barton of Vancleave and the Rev H M Carswell, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Satsuma.
Pallbearers were Earl Baldwin, Jimmy Manning, Howard Baldwin, Ivan Ellis, Lamar Crawford and Jack Miller.
Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in Mobile.
