Kenneth R. Briggs, of Orbisonia, died in St. Elizabeth's hospital, Youngtown, Ohio, on Wednesday, November 19, 1941, of burns which he received in an accident on October 30. Mr. Briggs sustained the burns when the truck which he was driving as an employe of the Decarbo Express Company of New Castle, Pa., struck a pole and caught fire on Route 422 out of E. Girard, Ohio. He had major burns about the face, hands and legs. Born October 10, 1915, at Burnt Cabins, he was a son of Jess and Margaret Hampton Briggs. At the time of his death he was aged 26 years, one month and nine days. Surviving are his parents and the following brother and sisters: Robert Briggs of Burnt Cabins; Donald, Julian, Glenn, Elizabeth and Geraldine Briggs, all at home, and Mrs. Helen Fogal, of Shade Gap. The young man was a member of the Burnt Cabins Methodist church. Short services will be held at his late home in Orbisonia, on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with furthur services in the Burnt Cabins Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. J.M. Garthoff will officiate. Interment will be made in the Burnt Cabins cemetery, directed by Behel's funeral service.
