Franke was born March 18, 1911, at Delmont, to Amos and Esther Lindsay Franke. He married Victoria Carda at Armour on June 25, 1936. They moved to Belle Fourche in 1937.
He was an employee of John Burns Memorial Hospital and, with his brother, operator of a bus service. In 1959 he purchased Mac's Electric, and operated it until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Shrine and United Methodist Church. Survivors include the widow; a son, Kenneth, Belle Fourche; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Jones of Pierre, Mrs.
Lyle Collins and Mrs. Henry Hantz, both of Belle Fourche; five brothers, Quintus, Forrest, Faye, Ardell and Arnold, all of Belle Fourche, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Memorials have been established to the United Methodist Church and the Masonic Temple. Robert Clark Spencer will be 1 p.m.
