GLADYS L. JONES
PIERRE, S.D.—Services with interment for Gladys L. Jones were in the Lake View Cemetery in Lake Andes, S.D.
Mrs. Jones, 96, of 705 North Grand St., Pierre, S.D., died at 1:20 p.m., Monday, Sept. 2, 1996 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, where she had been a patient since Aug. 26, 1996.
A longtime resident of Pierre, and former resident of Lake Andes, Mrs. Jones became ill on Aug. 26, 1996, while visiting relatives in Rock Springs.
She was born on July 1, 1900 in South Wayne, Wis., the daughter of Amos W. and Esther Ellen Lenzie Franke. Mrs. Jones attended schools in South Dakota and married Harvey B. Jones in Armour, S.D., on Jan. 1, 1919. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1961.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a member of the Rebekah Lodge for more than 50 years, a member of the Homemakers Club and
a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include one son, Jackie Jo Jones of Pierre; two daughters, Vivian Virginia Lutz of Pierre and Donna Belle Vesely of Lake Andes; one sister, Vivian Lavelle Hantz of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
